Issue #001 · Welcome
Welcome to the very first edition of The Scene Sydney.
First of all — thank you for being here.
The Scene Sydney was created with a simple idea: bring together the people who make Sydney's electronic music culture what it is.
For years, DJs, producers, vocalists, promoters, venues, photographers, videographers, labels, booking agents, event crews and music fans have been spread across different platforms, social pages and group chats. Great people, great music and great events — all scattered.
One city. One scene. One community.
What The Scene Sydney Is
The Scene Sydney is a free directory and community platform built for Sydney's electronic music scene.
It's one place to discover the people, venues, events and music that make up the scene — and one place to be discovered yourself.
There are no algorithms, no vanity metrics and no endless scrolling. Just real people, real opportunities and real connections.
Why It Was Created
Sydney has never had a shortage of talent. What it has lacked is a central place where everyone can find each other.
A promoter shouldn't have to trawl through six platforms to book a DJ. A venue shouldn't struggle to find a photographer. A producer shouldn't miss out on a vocalist who lives twenty minutes away. And a music fan shouldn't have to guess what's on this weekend.
Built by the scene. For the scene.

How Profiles Work
Creating a profile takes about a minute — a name, an email and a password.
From there you can add a photo, a banner, a bio, your roles, genres, links and everything else that helps people understand what you do. You can edit it any time, and your profile lives on a clean, shareable link you can put in your bio.
Profiles are free. There is no paywall to be part of the scene.
Create your free profile →The Directory
The directory is the heart of the platform: every DJ, producer, vocalist, promoter, venue, label, photographer, videographer and service provider in one searchable place.
Filter by role, genre, location and availability — then reach out directly.
Browse the directory →Finding Talent
Booking someone for a club night, festival, private party or corporate event? Search by exactly what you need, see real profiles instead of guesswork, and contact people straight through the platform.
Find talent →Events
Events on The Scene Sydney aren't just listings — they're connected. Every event links to the venue, the promoter and the artists on the lineup, so one event listing helps everyone involved get discovered.
See what's on →New Music
New Music is where releases from Sydney artists and labels live: singles, EPs, albums, remixes and free downloads, linked back to the profiles behind them.
Hear new music →Following & Event Notifications
Follow your favourite artists, venues and promoters and you'll hear about it when they announce something new — new events, new music, new updates.
It's the simplest way to stay on top of the scene without relying on a social feed to show it to you.
The Newsletter
The newsletter is the regular pulse of the platform: upcoming events, new local music, new faces joining, opportunities and stories from across the community — delivered to your inbox.
You don't need an account to subscribe.
How The Community Will Grow
This is the beginning. Over time this page will fill up with community content: featured artists and venues, new releases, event highlights, interviews, scene news and stories from the people building the culture.
The platform grows as the community grows — and the people joining now are shaping what it becomes.
